<h3>You probably have heard that muscle weighs more than fat.</h3>
<p>Many people notice a small weight gain when they begin lifting weights consistently.  As a general rule, if you lift weights 2 to 3 times a week, you can gain 1 pound of muscle per month for about 6 months.  After that, the rate of increase slows down as you start to reach your genetic potential.  For the same reason, you will make a lot of progress on weight progression at the beginning, but the longer you lift; your progression will lessen because you are reaching your genetic potential.<br />
Don’t be alarmed at the extra pounds of weight from weight training because it is well worth the effort.  For every 3 pounds of muscle you build, research shows you increase your resting metabolic rate by about 7 percent.  For example, if your body burns 1,200 calories per day (not counting <a title="exercise" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553346776/ref=as_li_tf_il?ie=UTF8&#38;tag=yo0a-20&#38;linkCode=as2&#38;camp=217145&#38;creative=399377&#38;creativeASIN=0553346776">exercise</a> or any other movement), you would burn an extra 84 calories per day with those 3 extra pounds of muscle.</p>

<p>Many women have a difficult time outgrowing 2-3 pound dumbbell weights, because they are afraid that if they increase the weight they will bulk up.  If you are happy with the strength and appearance of your muscles, you can do a maintenance program with 5 pound weights.  However, if you want more strength, you could progress to 8 or 10 pound weights and still not bulk up.  Using heavier weights can increase muscle size, but it’s highly unlikely that you’ll get bulky. Women don’t naturally have enough of the hormone, testosterone, required to build huge muscles, and even if you could bulk up, you’d have to use significantly heavier weights.</p>

<p>Slowly moving into a proper postural stance and holding it provides for proprioceptive feedback that allows the nervous system to coordinate muscle action. Stretching slowly protects muscle fibers and their tendons from strain while resistance set up by holding the posture increases muscle strength. Improved muscle strength and stretch provides stability, flexibility and protection to the joints.</p>

In Hinduism the main thought is that yoga brings people closer to God. In Buddhism practices, yoga is supposed to help people get a deeper sense of wisdom, compassion, and insight. In some of the farther Western countries, individualism is the strongest emphasis, so yoga would help people there get a better meaning in themselves. But, the ultimate goal of yoga is to actually attain liberation, from any type of suffering and/or the cycle of birth and death.</p>
<p>The word &#8220;yoga&#8221; derives from a sacred root of &#8220;Sanskrit&#8221;, which in English means &#8220;yoke&#8221;. The general translation of yoga is a &#8220;union of the individual with the universal soul&#8221;. The diversity of yoga involves many subdivisions, but everyone would agree that &#8220;the path to enlightenment&#8221; is the best suited phrase for yoga.</p>
<h3>A common theme of yoga  is the practice of concentration.</h3>
<p>The concentration is mainly focused on one point of sensation. When you sustain this &#8220;concentration&#8221; for a long enough period of time you will reach, what is called &#8220;meditation&#8221;.</p>
<p>Most meditators express deeper feelings of joy, peace, and self-oneness. The focus of meditation differs between yoga teachers. Some may focus more on peaceful thoughts, spiritualism, or a better sense of well-being, while others will focus on the more physical aspects like, different types of stretches for getting the body into being more fit. All would agree though that meditation for either the spiritual part or physical part of yoga is the most practiced.</p>
<p>A little bit of history on yoga comes from the Indus Valley Civilization that was around somewhere in between six or seven thousand years ago.  The earliest accounts of yoga were documented in the Rig Veda. This was a certain type of writing used back around 1500 to 2000 BC. However, the full description of yoga was first found in the &#8220;Upinasads&#8221; composed around the eighth century before Christ. The main thought of the Upinasads was that they constituted the end or conclusion of the &#8220;traditional body of spiritual wisdom&#8221;. The Upinasads used to offer sacrifices and hold certain types of ceremonies to appease the Gods. They used the thought that man could please the external gods by these sacrifices and in return that they would become one with the Supreme Being, through moral culture, restraint, and a stronger training of their minds.</p>
<p>With all the different types and practices of yoga, one person has so many types to choose from. Whether they want a more peaceful inner self, a stronger sense of well-being, or a body that will be put into better shape. All practices contain a characteristic designed for each purpose.</p>
<p>While some practices are argued about, all have one thing in common, it is practiced regularly around the world by many, and it is growing more popular every day.</p>

<p>If you’v been training, here’s a short list of bodybuilding fiction.</p>
<p><strong>1. 12 Rep rule</strong></p>
<p>Most weight training program include this much repetitions for gaining muscle. The truth is this approach places the muscles with not enough tension for effective muscle gain. High tension e.g. heavy weights provides muscle growth in which the muscle grows much larger, leading to the maximum gains in strength. Having  longer tension time boosts the muscle size by generating the structures around the muscle fibers, improving endurance.</p>
<p>The standard prescription of eight to 12 repetitions provides a balance but by just using that program all of the time, you do not generate the greater tension levels that is provided by the heavier weights and lesser reps, and the longer tension achieved with lighter weights and more repetitions. Change the number of reps and adjust the weights to stimulate all types of muscle growth.</p>
<p><strong>2. Three Set rule</strong></p>
<p>The truth is there’s nothing wrong with three sets but then again there is nothing amazing about it either. The number of sets you perform should be base on your goals and not on a half-century old rule. The more repetitions you do on an <a title="exercise" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553346776/ref=as_li_tf_il?ie=UTF8&#38;tag=yo0a-20&#38;linkCode=as2&#38;camp=217145&#38;creative=399377&#38;creativeASIN=0553346776">exercise</a>, the fewer sets you should do, and vice versa. This keeps the total number of repetitions done of an <a title="exercise" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553346776/ref=as_li_tf_il?ie=UTF8&#38;tag=yo0a-20&#38;linkCode=as2&#38;camp=217145&#38;creative=399377&#38;creativeASIN=0553346776">exercise</a> equal.</p>
<p><strong>3. Three to four exercises per group</strong></p>
<p>The truth is this is a waste of time. Combined with twelve reps of three sets, the total number of reps amount to 144. If your doing this much reps for a muscle group your not doing enough. Instead of doing too many varieties of exercises, try doing 30 to 50 reps. That can be anywhere from 2 sets of  15 reps or 5 sets of 10 reps.</p>
<p><strong>4. My knees, my toes</strong></p>
<p>It is a gym folklore that you “should not let your knees go past your toes.” Truth is that leaning forward a little too much is more likely a cause of injury. In 2003, Memphis University researchers confirmed that knee stress was almost thirty percent higher when the knees are allowed to move beyond the toes during a squat.</p>
<p>But hip stress increased nearly 10 times or (1000 percent) when the forward movement of the knee was restricted. Because the squatters needed to lean their body forward and that forces the strain to  transfer to the lower back.</p>
<p>Focus on your upper body position and less on the knee. Keep the torso in an upright position as much as possible when doing squats and lunges. These  reduces the stress generated on the hips and back. To stay upright, before squatting, squeeze the shoulder blades together and hold them in that position; and then as you squat, keep the forearms 90 degree to the floor.</p>
<p><strong>5. Lift weights, draw abs</strong></p>
<p>The truth is the muscles work in groups to stabilize the spine, and the most important muscle group change depending on the type of <a title="exercise" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553346776/ref=as_li_tf_il?ie=UTF8&#38;tag=yo0a-20&#38;linkCode=as2&#38;camp=217145&#38;creative=399377&#38;creativeASIN=0553346776">exercise</a>. The transverse abdominis is not always the most important muscle group. So if you focus only on the transverse abdominis, it can recruit wrong muscles and limit the right muscles. This increases the chance of injury, and reduces the weight that can be lifted.</p>

<p>Waking up doesn’t have to consist of pouring coffee down your gullet to shock yourself alive.</p>

<p>This can be done by applying human intelligence to choose the laws that serve him and to neutralize the laws that have a negative effect on the goal of the farmer. The farmer brings the divine intelligence in man to utilize the divine powers in nature that are working for general rather than for particular ends.</p>
<p>Yoga is something that can make a real change in peoples lives, we have seen this many times, from the physical practice of yoga to the philosophical implications, through the knowledge of the science of yoga, all that is yoga combines into a bigger, complete discipline that is beneficial for humanity.</p>
<p>For some calling yoga is a way to allow this to pass as a acceptable means of physical development, for others it seems like it contradicts the very spiritual nature of yoga, the different faces of yoga, as its different uses sometime creates the illusion of one single use.</p>
