<p>What effect does yoga have on one’s physicality? When one assumes and holds a yoga posture, this act of stretching and bending at the joints facilitates feedback to the central nervous system. Proprioceptors provide information about position, direction and rate of movement as well as the amount of muscle tension in a locality.</p>

The central nervous system takes the input from the proprioceptive nerve endings and by relaxing and tightening muscles in an organized fashion allows one to hold that posture. Changing balance of any one portion of the spine requires compensatory adjustments throughout it. Muscles respond automatically to stimuli from the nervous system which controls and integrates the activity of the whole body.</p>
<p>Flexibility is the proper and full range of motion within the joints of the body. This is brought about by the coordination of muscle tension and muscle relaxation via the nervous ystem.</p>
<p>Slowly moving into a proper postural stance and holding it provides for proprioceptive feedback that allows the nervous system to coordinate muscle action. Stretching slowly protects muscle fibers and their tendons from strain while resistance set up by holding the posture increases muscle strength. Improved muscle strength and stretch provides stability, flexibility and protection to the joints.</p>

<p>A rising number of business people are finding the mind-body connection.</p>
<p>Yoga, meditation, and other Eastern-born exercises are finding a growing audience among harried business people craving inner calm. Classes are offered at health clubs, company fitness centers, corporate retreats and spas.</p>
<p>Ideas that once were left-of-center are finding greater acceptance with the public support.</p>
<h3>Mind-body executive fitness is a hot topic right now.</h3>
<p>Lynn Doody, owner of Zen Fitness wellness programs in Chicago, notes that, whereas in the past most of her clients pursued traditional cardiovascular and weight-training <a title="exercise" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553346776/ref=as_li_tf_il?ie=UTF8&#38;tag=yo0a-20&#38;linkCode=as2&#38;camp=217145&#38;creative=399377&#38;creativeASIN=0553346776">exercise</a>, most now incorporate mind-body applications into the regimen.</p>

The 40-year-old vice-president at Merrill Lynch &amp; Co. had learned in 15 years of trading commodities to manage stress and <a title="anxiety" target="_blank" href="http://28151uvko8fa-q7ekhjzfmhkcd.hop.clickbank.net">anxiety</a>. He ran a few times a week, worked out at the gym, and worked at reducing stress in other conventional ways.</p>
<p>But he still ground his teeth at night, massages were temporary Band-Aids, and even while running he’d tense his muscles. He wanted more. He sought  ”a different quality of life.”</p>
<h3>What he found was yoga and meditation.</h3>
<p>At home, on an airplane, or for 10 minutes behind closed doors at work, Mr. Frantz can shut out distractions with deep breathing, yoga poses, imagery and other relaxation techniques.</p>
<p>He still runs, but (yoga and meditation) forces you to focus on what’s going on in the moment and to be aware of what your body is telling you. It relaxes you, brings your heart rate and your blood pressure down.</p>

<p>Practice your positions often. Yoga offers many benefits to your mind, body, and spirit, and these benefits may be maximized with regular practice on your own in addition to your classes and with your teacher. As a beginner, it is especially important that you practice so that you may see and feel the benefits early on.</p>

Yoga is usually taught, by a person called a &#8220;Guru&#8221;. Their intentions are to teach people how to obtain a quieter state of mind through meditation.  Quiet breathing and chanting &#8220;mantras&#8221; are practiced to help the person get to the &#8220;quiet&#8221; state of mind.</p>

In Hinduism the main thought is that yoga brings people closer to God. In Buddhism practices, yoga is supposed to help people get a deeper sense of wisdom, compassion, and insight. But, the ultimate goal of yoga is to actually attain liberation, from any type of suffering and/or the cycle of birth and death.</p>
<p>The word &#8220;yoga&#8221; derives from a sacred root of &#8220;Sanskrit&#8221;, which in English means &#8220;yoke&#8221;. The general translation of yoga is a &#8220;union of the individual with the universal soul&#8221;. The diversity of yoga involves many subdivisions, but everyone would agree that &#8220;the path to enlightenment&#8221; is the best suited phrase for yoga.</p>
<h3>A common theme of yoga  is the practice of concentration.</h3>
<p>The concentration is mainly focused on one point of sensation. When you sustain this &#8220;concentration&#8221; for a long enough period of time you will reach, what is called &#8220;meditation&#8221;.</p>
<p>Most meditators express deeper feelings of joy, peace, and self-oneness. The focus of meditation differs between yoga teachers. Some may focus more on peaceful thoughts, spiritualism, or a better sense of well-being, while others will focus on the more physical aspects like, different types of stretches for getting the body into being more fit. All would agree though that meditation for either the spiritual part or physical part of yoga is the most practiced.</p>
<p>A little bit of history on yoga comes from the Indus Valley Civilization that was around somewhere in between six or seven thousand years ago.  The earliest accounts of yoga were documented in the Rig Veda. This was a certain type of writing used back around 1500 to 2000 BC. However, the full description of yoga was first found in the &#8220;Upinasads&#8221; composed around the eighth century before Christ. The main thought of the Upinasads was that they constituted the end or conclusion of the &#8220;traditional body of spiritual wisdom&#8221;. The Upinasads used to offer sacrifices and hold certain types of ceremonies to appease the Gods. They used the thought that man could please the external gods by these sacrifices and in return that they would become one with the Supreme Being, through moral culture, restraint, and a stronger training of their minds.</p>
<p>With all the different types and practices of yoga, one person has so many types to choose from. Whether they want a more peaceful inner self, a stronger sense of well-being, or a body that will be put into better shape. All practices contain a characteristic designed for each purpose.</p>
<p>While some practices are argued about, all have one thing in common, it is practiced regularly around the world by many, and it is growing more popular every day.</p>

<p>For some calling yoga is a way to allow this to pass as a acceptable means of physical development, for others it seems like it contradicts the very spiritual nature of yoga, the different faces of yoga, as its different uses sometime creates the illusion of one single use.</p>

You need to make sure that every temptation will not serve as temptation. Sometimes, will power is not enough for this. You also need the support of the people around you.
